The New Digs

Moving Day!

And what did I notice first thing?? Dan lost his damn shoe! The one that Freddie put on last night. Sigh... Oh well. He's gonna have to deal with it.

It was a super long day but we finally got the ponies home. They loaded up flawlessly and hauled great. We got here and went to unload them and the guy was driving his golf cart around the pasture doing the survey. DUDE... you were supposed to be done with that already. Sigh... so I had to throw the boys in the roundpen. Which they loved...because they got to roll in the red sand. And it was so hot and humid so now they both look like pumpkins. Oh well. After awhile the guy left so I was able to turn them out. They are both a little agitated and clinging to each other and sticking close to the barn, but they will settle.

And I've got to say.... I freakin' love this place!!! Despite the nightmare that was moving in. :) Ha! On top of just the ridiculous amount of back and forth to get everything... and still forgetting things... and not getting a big enough uhaul... and having to extend the rental 2 extra days for silly stuff... the place was filthy... the cleaning lady really didn't clean it.... the toilet was clogged and the plumber didn't show up til 11 pm.... then the shower head sprayed you in the face... the dogs kept escaping... so we had to go get a palette of cinder blocks. That's 90 cinders blocks. NINETY! Good thing we still had the uhaul and didn't have to put them on the truck. Then we had no trash pick up.... and you have to be a newton county resident to use the dump, but we finally were able to go and just pay a fee. Then we came back from doing stuff on the 2nd day and the whole house smelled like dead rodent! (PLEASE don't divorce me Mike!). And the ants... ANTS EVERYWHERE!!!! Even in the ice box in the freezer... frozen dead ant bodies... oh, and we lost Toothless. We put the cats in the stall and within 2 seconds Toothless scaled it and slipped through the bars and bolted down the road. Oh, and trying to get the dogs in the car to get to the new farm!!! OMG!!! Cody wouldn't let me catch him and put a leash on him, and then he hid under the porch... twice... and then I had to basically body chuck Wyatt into the back seat... and then Emma had disappeared. Sigh.. finally got them all in though and to the new farm. And... nothing lines up here.. the gate doesn't actually meet to latch... the floors are all a little crooked... the doors don't shut exactly right...  BUT.... I do love it! The sunrise... the sunset... the barn set up.... the neighborhood...  I can't wait to get it all set up how we want it... painted... get Mike's garage.... :)
