Oh for Crying Out Loud.....

I should have just stayed in bed....

I got up and Freddie came and shod Dan. At least we were able to pull his front pads... and he changed his shoes a little behind... no need to drill and tap either :( Sobs..... So I saved a little bit of money.

Then Mike and I went to the bank... twice... because I forgot my purse with my license. argh..

Then I came home and decided to go ride before I had to clean the house. So I loaded Dan up... and we headed down the road. And.. my check engine light came back on. Funny, I was just thinking I probably ought to get that checked out before I go to Tenn... but it was only on twice and it went right off both days, so...  But not today. Nope.. it stayed on and I sort of felt like the truck wasn't as responsive. So I called Lead Foot to see if I could drop it off later that day. While I was talking to him, it decided that even when I pressed the pedal down, it was not going to go above 35 mph... so I decided I would turn around and drop Dan off and take the truck in now... and then .... it... exploded! It wouldn't go.. then it basically quit on me... started smoking... and died. Right in front of the gas station, but there was no power. So I turned it off and tried to crank it up again. NOPE! Nada... So.. since I was still on the phone with Lead Foot... he said he wound send a tow truck. While I was talking to him, some nice guy stopped and was asking if I needed help and offered to tow me to the gas station or the parking area of the recycle place so I wasn't in the middle of the road. Then a cop drove by and stopped and was trying to talk to me. So then I called Peri to ask her to come... and bring a chain if she had one because the nice guy who stopped didn't have a chain and couldn't pull me. And then I had to message Mike... and he showed up too. So finally... the wrecker got there and was able to tow me to the parking lot of the recycling place. Then we got my truck unhitched and then he was able to drag it out from under my trailer and pull it up on the tow truck. Sigh... Bye Sally... And then Peri showed up and we were able to get her truck hitched and she took me and Dan home.

So then Mike and I spent the next 2 hours cleaning the house and then we went to go look at trucks while Jacel showed the house. We got to Chevy and Jacel texted and said the guy backed out (for the 2nd time).... ARGH. So Mike and I looked at chevy's then drove to look at some Dodge's... and then came home.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Frustrating Day

Today was such a frustrating day! I ended up crying, partly because I'm frustrated and my day was not going how it was supposed to and I felt like I upset both of my friends.. and didn't accomplish anything... ugh. BUT... I ended the day on my pony, who was wonderful. We had a great walk ride and he felt good. Ahhhhh.... I feel better now!

GOOD pony and lots of friends

Today was incredibly windy! I almost put my saddle on but figured, eh... what the heck. And he was soooo good! He didn't put a foot wrong. We ended up running into a few friends and chatting briefly, so we were out longer than the 45 minutes... and we may have walked longer than 45 minutes, but oops! It was just such a gorgeous day despite the wind. Nice and warm and not humid or hot. Gorgeous colors in the sky and grass. We had a great time.

We ran into Missy, Marty and Indi and there two dogs. Dan was fascinated with their new basset hound. Hee hee. He almost acted like he wanted to spin and bolt, but he didn't. Then he settled and went to playing bitey face with Indi. Hee hee. They're so funny.

It was a nice day.

Shhhhh, we cantered!

So.... I didn't ride yesterday and tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy nasty day. So I managed to go ride. :) It was gorgeous out but you can tell the storm is coming. When we got to Ashland they were doing tractor work dragging the arenas and mowing some near there. Dan was alert and watching but okay. So I got him tacked up (bareback pad, dressage bridle) and hopped on. Of course right then, we noticed another tractor by the trails. So... we headed out and the timing was awful. The tractor came out from the wooded path by the smaller lake right as we were walking by. So... he saw it and he held it together, but then... he muscled up and snuck in about 8 canter strides. And it was glorious!!!! He was on the muscle and rocked back and .. it was glorious! I managed to get him back to the walk and then we carried on. There was no more cheating, although he was very jumpy. As was I. :) It was a pretty night. I'm glad we went.

Another Walk....

So... today was a beautiful day!! I spent most of it in the house painting the kitchen. My back was killing me.. my wrists.. my shoulders.. even my fingers were going numb! So finally at 3ish, I was able to take a break. Because... there was nothing to do but wait 2 hours before I could do the next coat. So... I felt bad, but I told Kelli that I couldn't wait til later to ride, so... poor Fleck's birthday party was now even smaller. Oh well. It was a gorgeous day and I really wanted to ride... and this way I could ride and get back in time to do more painting. :) And not be up too late. In theory. ;)

We got to Ashland and I decided to ride Dan first in case Kelli could make it. I know Dan missed having company, but it was Fleck's birthday, so... the birthday boy got the party if able. :)

Dan was FILTHY!! So I gave him a good grooming and put the bareback pad on and his jump bridle and off we went. He felt SOOO good. Like.. he was striding out and calm and powerful. It felt like we could pick up the canter at any moment and it would have been a glorious canter too. Sigh.. But we had a good walk.

At the end we weren't quite ready to be done, so we made a quick detour to the lake. As we were there, another girl and her horse had walked up, so we had company walking back to the trailers, which made Dan happy. :)

Gorgeous day for a walk

Dan got a day off yesterday, because... I thought maybe giving him a day off between rides was smart.

So today we went for another walk. And it was BREEZY and a bit brisk/cool, but he was super. He didn't put a foot wrong :)

It was a gorgeous morning and we were by ourselves until we got back to the parking lot. Then it was starting to pick up.
