Month 1: Stall and patio rest, hand grazing, pillar work, bemer
Month 2: Small turn out, hand walks, pillar work, strengthening that thoracic sling, body work, chiropractic, acupuncture, bemer, fix the relationship to contact
Month 3: Turn out in pasture, lunging lessons with Rana working on keeping him straight and upright, ie... on the correct lead. Walk and maybe a little bit of trotting, work on relationship to contact
Month 4: turn out in pasture, lessons with Rana at the walk, again working on straightness, strengthening the thoracic sling, relaxing the iliopsoas, and continue body work. Add in water therapy at Ashland and short hacks, work on relationship to contact
Goals:
Step 1: Healing
Step 2: Rehabbing, fixing the dysfunction vs strengthening the dysfunction
Step 3: Strengthening
Step 4: Training/preparing to compete
Thoughts:
- Use the cavesson for lunging
- Relaxation is key. Tension is the enemy
- Remember the phases... healing, rehabbing, then strengthening and building
- Let's fix all the holes now
- take the noseband off
