Today was a good lesson. We worked on our lengthens a little bit and Cindy noted that I HAD To control that out of control right shoulder of Dans to get his right hind to be able to step evenly. And sure enough.. it made a huge difference when I was thinking more of half halting on the right rein. Somehow I get sucked into.... wiggling his head in the lengthens. I'm not sure if I'm following the wiggle, allowing the wiggle, or creating the wiggle, but... it's bad. He's much more balanced when I can think about riding the right shoulder. I think I still ride the left side too but I'm much more balanced and aware than if I think of just... I don't know... riding his mouth??
