Hacked with Laura
Kind of a turd... kept bucking down the hills but wouldn't walk fast when he was in front.
Hacked with Laura back to her barn and went to show her how Dan was. walked over the one side raised poles and dan face planted practically. goof. then tried to trot but he was slipping a little. so she told me to go into the covered. "caroline won't care".
so we did. the trot felt great. but also had spurs. then cantered. first way each direction wasn't great. tracking right he swapped behind on the straight away and both ways he fell out. Ugh... but he did go into it better. boo. But then I remembered that Kelli mentioned it took time with her SI injections and Laura said that I may have to push him through it... help strengthen him... remind/show him it doesn't still hurt. So... we trotted some more and he felt really good so we cantered again and I wasn't nasty, but kept asking... and he held it... and held it... and then he started to feel better. So we trotted again and cantered again... got some really nice shoulder in at the trot and then because I had the mirrors... half pass. Kinda nice swing even! And then the canter got really kind of nice... back to his normal canter. He is weak... but... we even did a shallow serpentine each way, which he didn't fall out of!!!
then hacked back to the trailer and hit the arena for one more short bout of trot and canter work. Did lose a hind leg once.. like left it in texas.. but... seemed fine.
called it quits though I was tempted to keep going. But that was 4 plus minutes of canter and the last month or so it's only been 1 minute or 2 max. So.. gonna have to be careful.
