Todays' been a day! Dan has his recheck to get his eye checked out. So since it's 10 minutes from Rana's I scheduled a lesson before hand. So... we get to our lesson and.. he's lame. Like... legit lame, not just a weird rein lame that we can work around. He's short striding in the front right. Almost like he is waiting til the last second to lift it off the ground and then instead of swinging it the full length, he's stopping short. He's also dragging that toe a little. And we couldn't get rid of it by riding more and straighter. Sigh.. Even Rana got on to feel it and you can still see it with her. So.. no lesson.
But, UGA said his eye looked fantastic and had healed beautifully. Like.. there was really no way of even telling he had an issue at this point. Yay! So good news there. And then, since we were there anyways... I asked to see if Lameness had time to see us. They could, but they said it would be 2 hours. I decided to wait because... you know... whatever, instant gratification.... what else was I going to do? (other than errands and stuff). So we hung out. Dan got bored and started banging on his stall so I took him out to graze. And about 2 minutes later is when Dr. Peroni came out to see us. :)
He watched him go and agreed right front. He also saw a little right hind. So they blocked the right front and it was better. But then he was a little off on the left front. And at that point, it was 5 pm, so... he said that basically, he thought it was in the foot. He wasn't sensitive to hoof testers and given the history... he thought full rads and MRI were my best bet. Although he also said we could do some ridden evaluations with blocks too but basically... we'd have to come back another day. So... we went home and I'll have to decide what to do next.
And then... as he was getting off the trailer... he somehow hung his left front shoe on the edge of the ramp and ripped it clean off. Seriously Dan?!? UGh.... Today was not a fun day.
Random photos from this month because... I don't think i took any today. Oh, but video is from today.
