Cookie Monster

 Good sport... has been quite happy recently... although still sharky at dinner and with grooming. 

lunged well today. Pretty decent looking and seemed happy to go. trotted over the pole a good bit. Still scuffing up dirt with all four but maybe better up front. Still short right front.

Another lunge. Maybe a bit lame starting out. Lost his right hind twice. Still dragging toes. Dad came to watch.... he didn't snarl at him. pretty night. so hot!

 Well, he did get loose once today.. with the chain. But we were done and I sort of let him. He didn't go very far and let me catch him. 

but prior he lunged okay. started out almost lame behind... definitely dragging his toes bad still. by second trot set he was sound and happier looking. got some nice work. added a pole to the circles every so often. Ran with him a few times to help make him not keep circling.. he gets faster! It's not a race dan!

Good boy. Seems happier .... in work? chinese herbs? fixed back?

 Danimal is a happy camper! I'm not sure if it's his Chinese Herbs to cool his "fire" or the fact that he's back in work... or if he just feels better since I injected his back... or his suspensories have healed more.. or the nice weather... but I'll take it! 

Granted, he's still D-Rex... but he's been a hair snugglier and so good. 

We lunged again today and he tasted the chain a few times and knew I had his number so he didn't try any shenanigans. He looked good today and was quite happy to trot. He even picked it up before I asked him to a few times and even picked up a canter for a few steps because I clucked. Clockwise is still harder for him... especially with the atrophied shoulder on the inside. But he looks decent overall. Yay!

He is a filthy mess though... He really looks homeless. Except he's so shiny! I'm loving this feed. But he's hairy, he's shedding, his mane is long and uneven and wild, and he's filthy! He rolled in the red clay today too, so now he's also orange. But I love him!

Outsmarted!!

Whooo hoo!! It's rare I can outsmart Dan! But I did!

Since I injected his back and pelvis, we are rehabbing with lunge work. But Dan is a stinker and doesn't play well on the lunge line so I decided to give the chain shank a try. I didn't put it over his nose, or on his lips, but... just clipped it to the halter. I figured if he tried to grab it I could either smack him in the face with it, or yank it through his teeth easily. Which sounds harsh.. and kind of is, but.... the fool doesn't give you a choice! So I tried it. And.. it worked!! Although I'm not so sure that Dr. Febles will approve of my tactics. 

He was a good boy and realized he's been had. So he got a lot of treats for playing nice. And he looked pretty darn sound too! Yay!
