Cleared!!!!

Oh Dan!! BEST DAY EVER!!!!!

We had the farrier visit this morning and we opted to put him back in pads all the way around. He's prolapsing his frog his heel bulbs are collapsing, and he just seemed happier when he had pads all the way around. So I think we did frog support pads. We also took him out of his one rim pad for the atrophy, because... meh... I don't know that it was helping and I don't know if it was partly why he was lame on the left front. So we'll see. He also still had that hematoma on the toe of his left front. Only it was slightly medial and he seemed like he was more trying to avoid walking on the lateral side of his foot. It did look a little shallower to me, so hopefully it'll be gone or close to gone on the next shoe cycle. I jokingly told Patrick that I was bummed he didn't find an abscess or anything because I figured that the vet would have to work it up now and jokingly said "he's gonna tell me it's a keratoma and make me do another surgery". Shut your mouth Holly!!

Then I turned him out for a bit before our vet visit and he rolled and got filthy!! I thought I had given myself a little bit of extra time because we had to stop and get gas, but now... he really needed a grooming. Maybe I can still curry some of the filth off. Except after I caught him, as we were walking back, he grabbed the lead rope in his mouth and took off. Excuse me sir?!?! That's a new timing to that trick! Luckily he let me catch him and then cooperated back to the trailer. I knocked the big chunks off and loaded him up and we filled up the truck with diesel. We made it to the clinic on time and they put us in the big exam room. And then we waited a bit for the vet to show. Dan pooped... (thanks bud) and drug me around a bit. I did manage to keep him from eating the ultrasound or going into the second room and dirtying it up.

I told the vet about his left front and that we didn't find anything other than the hematoma. He watched him job and was excited about his hind end. He said he looked great. He also thought the right front looked better. (Which, maybe because he's now short on the left front? So now he matches! Doh!). I thought Dan looked pretty sound today but it's hard to see a front limb lameness from a straight line going away and to you (For me anyways). He blocked his foot and while we waited for that to kick in, we ultrasounded his suspensories. They look fantastic!!! They were no longer swollen and normal sized and looked good. He still had that one little avulsion fracture site but that was going to be that way forever and shouldn't cause him an issue. YAHOOO!!! So then we jogged him again and he thought he looked sound. So we x-rayed his foot. His angles looked good and there was only a tiny little bit of arthritis on the fetlock joint (I think). So then he did solar films. And sigh... there's a small little cresent blob shadow/cut out in his coffin bone at the toe. It sort of matched the site of his hematoma.
